Engines today, with solar, wind, tidal and storage on the way, all on one small grid with no interconnector to lean on. Energi was built in Alderney, where we rebuilt the island's power station and grid with the AEL team and still run its engineering.
About
Energi is led by Jon Stokes, a power generation and energy storage engineer, project manager and consultant with over twenty years across BESS, microgrid, island power, engine control, SCADA and OT systems.
Jon has delivered complex, multi-disciplinary projects at DNO and transmission connected levels, from feasibility and financial modelling through to commissioning and O&M. His background is hands-on across mechanical, electrical and control systems, including PPC, DCS, protection and control, and engine control across gas, diesel and hybrid plant. He is an HV Senior Authorised Person at 11 kV and 33 kV and a NESO Independent Test Engineer.
Alongside Energi he is Head of Technical, Engineering and Commissioning at Alderney Electricity Limited, the island's utility, where he is technical authority for generation, network and control assets.
Equipment and platforms worked with include ComAp, Siemens, ABB, SMA, Wärtsilä, BYD, Sungrow, Tesla, Bachmann, Hyosung, Power Electronics, KrakenFlex, Foxboro, Perkins, Caterpillar, GE and Cummins.
